Magnetic core and windings
The core provides the magnetic circuit linking the windings. Core-type and shell-type arrangements use different structural layouts. The windings form the electrical circuits through which power is transferred.
Tank and cooling assembly
In an oil-immersed transformer, the tank contains the active part and insulating liquid. Radiating surfaces or radiators help remove heat, while the tank structure supports the assembled equipment.
A coordinated design
Core construction, winding insulation and heat removal operate together. Their arrangement is selected for the required voltage, capacity and operating conditions.
